The Bulb Africa

The Bulb™ is a tech talent incubator and a platform that addresses the shortage of African tech talents. The Bulb, runs a training institute, a startup engine and multiple communities in the tech space, is a social enterprise with alignment with several United Nations SDG Goals. Their platform helps creatives learn the skills to start a thriving career in tech through the Fellowship Program, as well as help turn tech ideas into business realities.

The Bulb aims to provide exceptional learning experiences to equip African tech creatives with the skills required to compete in the fast-changing world of technology. By incubating, accelerating and co-investing in startups the Bulb aims to create solutions to transform the continent.

Pledges Inc. has been supporting The Bulb Africa Fellowship Program, since April 2023 to provide access to trainings for global opportunities and career growth. To date we have invested USD184,779 in two cohorts teaching C3-Lite and C4 to 63 learners primarily from Nigeria.

Since October 2022, The Bulb has received USD 8,181 in repayments from employed graduates. These repayments are collected on behalf of Pledges for the support of future cohorts and students. Pledges Inc. has further committed to awarding five scholarships of USD 1,000 each (USD5,000 in total) for 5 women participating in an upcoming all-women Tech Jewel training bootcamp.
